Welcome to your Eurovision Song Contest.

This was the ninth edition of the Yourovision Song Contest, held in July 2014, in Luxembourg, winner of the previous edition of the contest.

Due to the decrease in number of participants, chiefly due to the eighth edition being a special edition in which all participants were offered a second country, this edition saw the removal of the semi-final stage, with the added comment from the contest host that semi-finals will not return in editions with fewer than 24 participant songs.

As well as the débuts of Malta, Puerto Rico and Turkey, and the returns of Albania, Norway and San Marino, no less than five artists who had taken to the Yourovision stage in previous editions returned to the contest, including Sharon Doorson, who represented the Netherlands in the fifth edition, this time presenting the home entry of this edition.

Edition 9 - Luxembourg - Sweet HarmonyEdit

The ninth edition of the Yourovision Song Contest was held in Luxembourg, following Sandra Van Nieuwland's victory in Copenhagen in the previous edition. The slogan of this edition was "Sweet Harmony", to reflect the beauty and order of music, as a metaphor for the benefits of co-operation and peace in the world.

The dates for the ninth edition were:

Participation deadline/Voting begins: 12th July, 2014
Voting deadline: 25th July, 2014
Grand Final: 26th July, 2014

¹Turkey and US America failed to vote, resulting in their disqualification and the invalidation of the points they received.
²The United Kingdom and the Netherlands voted as one entity because both countries represented one user, who had been awarded a second country in this edition as a result of placing fourth in the previous edition. This benefit would have been granted to the previous edition's winner, but they did not accept their prize in time. Similarly, the previous edition's runner-up did not claim the prize, and the user who finished third withdrew from this edition.
