Welcome to your Eurovision Song Contest.

This was the twelfth edition of the Yourovision Song Contest, held in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in the United Kingdom, who won the eleventh edition of the contest. This edition took place in October of 2014.

In this edition, several formerly-withdrawn countries made their return, and several artists who had taken part in the contest before, including Annalisa, for San Marino, who won for Italy in the tenth edition. Additionally, Slovenia joined the contest, after having originally planned to join in the eighth edition, only to cancel their plans.

For this edition, Italy selected their entrant through a national final. They chose their song through the first instalment of La Scelta. Additionally, Ireland had planned to run a national selection process, but this never came to fruition due to time constraints, resulting in their opting for an internal selection instead.

The results of this edition were markedly close, with the exception of the eventual winner, Luxembourg, who held a consistent, and, eventually, unassailable, lead throughout the voting. After a certain point, however, Croatia fell into a position in which it would be impossible not to place last, whether they cast their votes, or not.

Edition 12 - Newcastle - Endless Possibilities

The twelfth edition of the Yourovision Song Contest was held in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (abbreviated to its colloquial name, Newcastle, for the contest), after Molly Smitten-Downes won the previous edition, bringing the contest to the United Kingdom for the second time. The slogan, this time, was "Endless Possibilities", to serve as a reminder that any and all boundaries, borders and limitations are, to one extent or another, purely self-imposed, and that, with enough application, anything can be achieved.
