Universong 77 was the 77th edition of the Universong Contest, held for the first time in Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco, after the winning of the French duo Cassandre with the song "Ma révolution" the previous edition in Zagreb, Croatia. The contest was held from April 30th to May 18th, 2015.
After an exciting voting, Iran was declared winner of Universong for the first time with the song "Azizami", sung by Iranian-Swedish singer Mahan Moin. Moin - later a double champion by winning USC one more time in Santiago de Chile, in USC 92 - and her eventual runner-up Stefanie Heinzmann from Switzerland kept on switching places during the whole voting, until some advantage put Iran in the lead, finishing with an 18-point difference between them, and both placing with over 200 points. The Netherlands earned third place, with Denmark in fourth and Finland in fifth.
Also, Iran hold the record of being the second overall winner to win a special award. "Azizami" co-won the Best Non-English award along with Bulgaria. Mahan Moin was one of the three winners to get the Non-English award, after Monaco's Cassandre in USC 76 and before Chile's Camila Gallardo in USC 91.
