Universong 54, the 54th staging of the Universong Contest, was held from June 25th to July 12th, 2013 in Turku, Finland. This is the second time Finland stages the contest, this time after the winning of Jippu, with the song "Eva" the previous edition in Vilnius, Lithuania.
After an exciting voting, The Netherlands got its fifth winning ever, with the song "Silhouette" by Lisa Lois. The voting saw the struggle between Lois and Chen Aharoni from Israel - with the song "Or" as her closest rival, specially in the latest stages, where they took a runaway advantage after involving the Czech Republic representative Lucie Vondráčková, who eventually took 4th place. The Netherlands and Israel took the first positions, eventually having a 3-point difference between them, the former winning with 256 points, which set a record in Universong for the highest points ever given to a winning song, surpassing the record imposed by Alexandra Burke when she won USC 41, and being this the second time a winning song surpasses the 200 point barrier, but this time not only the winning song, but their runners-up Israel and Norway (represented by Alida with the song "Feathers") also got more than 200 points each. This record would later be broken in USC 70, when Ukraine's Kamaliya won the contest with a total of 261 points, the highest quantity of points given to a winning song until now. Also, Spain's Alvaro Soler surpassed Lisa Lois' record in USC 89, as the second best total score for a winner with 257 points, though 4 points far from Kamaliya's record.
The top 5 was completed by the songs from Czech Republic (its best placement ever at a country level in Universong) and England.
