Turkey debuted in the first edition of North Vision Song Contest. To date, they never missed an edition.
History of Turkey in Northvision
NVSC 01 (debut)
Turkey debuted in the first edition. Demet Akalin was the represenative of the country with the song, "Rota". Turkey performed eleventh in the semi-final. However, they didn't qualify to the final and managed to finish eighteenth with 31 points in the semi-final.
NVSC 02
After the first edition the header of the Turkish broadcaster said that Turkey would be in the second edition. Nil Karaibrahimgil was revealed as the representative with the song "Seviyorum Sevmiyorum". For the second time, they didn't manage the qualification to the final finishing seventeenth with 43 points in the semi-final.
NVSC 03
Turkey announced their participation once again, even after the poor results of the previous editions. Demet Akalin, returned to the contest for the second time with the song Giderli Şarkılar hoping the qualification of Turkey. Nevertheless, they didn't qualify for the third time in a row.
NVSC 04
On July 11, the Turkish broadcaster announced that they may withdraw from the contest due to the three unsuccessful attempts, from the previous editions, to qualify in the final. Finally, on July 26, TRT announced that they will confirm for the fourth edition.
