The World Music Contest 17, often referred to as TWMC#17, was the 17th edition of The World Music Contest. This edition held in Brussels after Belgium won the previous edition of this contest. For the first time since July 2013 had the contest less then 40 players.

In this edition the top-5 in each semi-final is qualified for the final. The Funky Loser was Iceland, this is a wild card for one of the three songs on place #6. The managers VHB-Trophy was won by Burundi, this song ended successfully on the 5th place in the final ranking.

First win for France, after finishing second in TWMC#6. For Luxembourg is it the first medal best ranking up to now. Denmark won its third medal (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), it won the 9th edition.
