Edition #1[]
This entry has become iconic and is often referenced, for example in Melodifakestivalen 12, with "Soy la Princesrosalina (Venmo)" by Ruthie Wendys.
Edition #9[]
Edition #19[]
After withdrawing to focus on the coverage of the unification of Ireland in year 18, in year 19 the brand new national final One Song for One Ireland was announced. Four acts represented the four historical provinces of Ireland (of which Ulster used to be divided between Northern-Ireland and the Republic).
Alternative pop duo Kathleen Joyce and Eileen McMillan form House of Sagittarius. They hail from Castlebar, co. Mayo and represented Connacht in the National final. They won the NF with a good lead, leaving the scoreboard as follows:
Province | Artist | Song | Jury points | Televote points | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Connacht | House of Sagittarius | "Metamorphosis" | 86 | 32 | 118 |
Munster | The Cork Gate | "An Domhan Eile" | 74 | 24 | 99 |
Leinster | 7pm music club | "Theorem of Nothingness" | 55 | 18 | 73 |
Ulster | Taya Kauluchi | "Forever 4 U" | 32 | 8 | 40 |
This song is an alternative pop tune which has a somewhat unconventional style, not following the typical verse-chorus setup as most songs of this genre do but rather serving as a narrative to tell a story. The story in this case is about “Metamorphosis”, the process of transforming into an adult, told with metaphors of insect metamorphosis.
