Asia Pacific Song Contest 6, often referred to as APS6, is the 6th edition of the Instagram musical event Asiapacificvision Song Contest.
The contest took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, following Manizha's victory in the 5th edition with the song "Lyustra". This was the first time that Tajikistan hosted the contest.
Location[]
Dushanbe (Tajik: Душанбе) is the capital and largest city of Tajikistan. Dushanbe means Monday in the Tajik language. It was named this way because it grew from a village that originally had a popular market on Mondays. Until 1929, the city was known in Russian as Dyushambe (Russian: Дюшамбе), and from 1929 to 1961 as Stalinabad (Tajik: Сталинобод).
As of 2016, Dushanbe had a population of 802,700.
Arena[]
The contest took place in the State Circus Tajikistan. Considering the seismically active zone there were no high-rise buildings until the 1990s. Therefore, the Circus building itself is unique in its style and size. And was build under the USSR, now there are regularly performing troupes from different countries of the world, the hall is always full, especially if circuses come from Russia.
