The 13th edition of Eurovision Song Contest - Fans Club Game was organised in Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, following the country's victory in 12th edition of the contest in Bern with the song "Zombie" by The Cranberries.
All the shows were hosted by three presenters - an Irish entertainment manager Louis Walsh and two female singers: new age and celtic music composer - Enya and the winner of Eurovision Song Contest 1993, Niamh Kavanagh.
Format
Owing to an anewly growing interest in the contest, the format had to be changed to the previous one, where the whole show consisted of 3 Semi-finals(with 10 qualifiers from each), Second Chance and the Grand Final. Countries that participated, just like before, could come from both geographical and historical Europe, with only one special guest(in this edition - Japan). Same voting system; each country had a set of points from 1-8, 10 and 12 to give. The songs chosen could be original, found and selected by players themselves, as well as the ones, which previously had taken part in Eurovision Song Contest. The running order random, after a randomization personally held by a creator of the contest.
Televoting
Owing to a poll and a majority of contest's participants voting for that additional option, a rule of televoting was added to the contest. Apart from "jury" voting(1-8, 10 and 12), each player is provided with a number of 58 votes to give out to their favourites, choosing as many songs as they wish and divide their votes in whichever proportions they desire. Later on, those votes are proportionally converted into televoting points, that are added to a general sum.
