This was tge 7th edition of the Ceolvision Song Contest. It was hosted Glasgow, United Kingdom following Joel Corry & MNEK’s victory for UK in CEOL 6 with “Head & Heart”. A record breaking 36 countries participated in this edition. The Semi Final format also returned in this edition. This edition was won by Germany.png Germany, with Robin Schulz & Wes with their song “Alane”, which scored a record breaking 200 points.

Host City

Glasgow was selected as the host city of Ceolvision 7 by BBC. Glasgow is the capital city of Scotland, with a population of roughly 600,000

Venue

The SSE Hydro was selected as the venue. It is a multi purpose indoor arena, with a capacity of 15,000. It has hosted events such as the BBC’s Sport Personality Of The Year Awards and the MTV European Music Awards. In 2020, the arena was used as the fictional setting for the movie, “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga”

Hosts

Ceolvision 7 was hosted once again by a duo, consisting of Lewis Capaldi and Emma Willis. Lewis is a Grammy and Brit Award winning singer/songwriter based in Scotland. His songs “Someone You Loved”, “Hold Me While You Wait”, “Before You Go” and “Bruises” have charted Worldwide, with Someone You Loved being nominated for Song Of The Year at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Emma is a TV presenter, famous for hosting the British versions of Big Brother, The Voice and The Circle.

Semi Finals

This season saw the reintroduction of the Semi Final format. The top 4 countries from last edition (France, Netherlands, Germany and UK) were prequalified, meaning that the 32 remaining countries were required to compete in the two Semi Finals. Each semi will have 16 competing countries, with 8 countries qualifying for the final, joining the Big 4.
